Being unique gets results

At ELTHAM College, we pride ourselves on a culture of excellence and creativity. A collaborative environment helps our teachers focus on uncovering students’ individual talents, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach to education. By adapting to your children’s needs, helping them gain confidence and self-discipline, we also help them achieve real results. For us, academic excellence is the norm, but education is far more than this; it’s an immersive experience that develops the whole person. We are also non-selective and welcome students of all backgrounds, talents and abilities. Because we take the time to find what students are naturally interested in, we get consistently good VCE results from year to year. Ninety per cent of our students achieve their first, second or third university preference The way ELTHAM empowers students to become themselves and strive for their own personal best is what makes us unique. We give them the confidence, self-worth and independence to thrive in the world, far beyond the school grounds, as proven by the low university drop-out rate of our graduates. Our students consistently stick with their decisions and stay in university for the long haul. We believe this is because they base their decisions on their passions, not simply their ATAR score. We know this because we stay in contact with our graduates and we care about their success long after they leave the classroom.

Why ELTHAM College students are unique

We’re as concerned with teaching students the skills to learn as we are with what they learn. This independent approach to education uncovers each student’s unique talents so they can become active participants in their world and find their own voices.

How ELTHAM College is unique

We’re proud to have one of the broadest creative and academic curriculums in the country. So wherever your child’s talents and interests lie, we can help unlock their potential. But the difference doesn’t end there. We offer a range of programs designedto encourage collaboration and teamwork, preparing them to live in the world.

Our programs include:

LifeWork Centre

Our LifeWork Centre is the hub of the Senior School, with LifeWork Counsellors who work with students to discover their aspirations. They develop a relationship with every student in Years 9 to 12 and their parents to investigate options, develop programs, encourage dreams and facilitate opportunities. They also work with Middle Year students and staff throughout the college.

Year 9 City Experience

To match the increasing demands of a global society and prepare students for the independence and responsibility of their senior years, students spend Year 9 at our City Campus. There they visit cultural sites, confront urban environmental issues, and meet and work with a range of people in our multicultural city.

Hospitality

Students have the opportunity to work in the school restaurant and coffee shop to gain a valuable practical understanding of how a small business works. They also receive VET certification and entry into school-based apprenticeships. They gain personal confidence from dealing with real clients. For a world-ready education, visit elthamcollege.vic.edu.au and find your child’s voice today.
