Message from the Principal

Melbourne Girls Grammar is a School that thinks deeply about the quality of its educational programs, talks openly with parents and students, and thrives because it has outstanding staff that are genuinely committed to the best outcomes for every girl. Our focus is the development of young women with the confidence, skills and experience to excel in life beyond school. Leadership, team building, social and cultural awareness and a strong sense of personal self-worth are crucial components of an education at Melbourne Girls Grammar. We have a lovely saying that "every student is part of the heart-line" of 117 years of Old Grammarian scholars, and with each generation of MGGS women we build an exceptional community dedicated to exceptional learning experiences for girls. Quite simply, we love our students and seeing who they will become!

- Catherine Misson (Principal).

Committed to developing ethical women of action

Melbourne Girls Grammar (MGGS) is a place where challenge and choice create opportunities for every girl to discover who she is meant to be. MGGS is a forwardfocused school with an outstanding history of providing girls with an exceptional education that equips them to thrive and lead in many life contexts.

Through an unwavering commitment to their personal best, girls at MGGS develop confidence and independence. Our Student Values provide the foundation for student service and leadership, and the world-class Learning Programs (Early Leaning; Junior Years: Prep to Year 4; Middle Years: Years 5 to 8; Senior Years: Years 9 to 12) are specifically created to respond to the unique needs of contemporary girls.

Enhancing an MGGS education are the diverse opportunities offered in the classroom and beyond. The depth of co-curricular programs offered in every Learning Program ensures that every girl explores and develops her areas of interest and passion to maximise her learning.
